(a) The person in charge of any garage or repair shop to which is brought any motor vehicle which shows evidence of having been involved in an accident or struck by any bullet shall report to the Police Division immediately after such motor vehicle is received, giving the engine number, registration number, and if known, the name and address of the owner and operator of such vehicle together with any other discernible information.

(b) Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
