There is hereby established with the Department of Public Service a Division of Public Works. The Division of Public Works shall be headed by, and there is hereby created, the position of Public Works Commissioner. The Public Works Commissioner shall be a full-time employee appointed by the Director of Public Service.
(a) Duties. The Public Works Commissioner shall be in charge of public building maintenance, roads, forestry and storm response. He shall provide such other services and perform such other duties consistent with the position as may be required by the Director.
(b) Employees. The staffing of the Division of Public Works is hereby established and is reflected in the organizational chart for the Department of Public Service contained in Section 141.99(b), which, as it pertains to this Division only, is incorporated herein as if fully rewritten. The Mayor shall establish the compensation of all employees of the Division within the salary ranges established by City Council, to the extent that such compensation is not otherwise established by contract, or federal, state or local law.
