§ 90.242 EXCESS MUNICIPAL PROPERTY.
   The City Administrator may recommend to the Council that certain personal property owned by the city is no longer needed for a municipal purpose and should be sold. The City Council by resolution may authorize the sale of the property. If the total estimated value of the property is less than $500, the City Administrator may sell the property through negotiated sale. If the excess property has a total estimated value of $500 or more, then the property shall be sold at public auction. Notice of the auction shall be published once in the official newspaper at least 3 weeks prior to the sale. The notice shall give the time and place of the sale and describe the property to be sold. The net receipts from the sale shall be placed into the General Fund of the city.
