For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
GOLF CART or CART. A four wheeled motor vehicle that is gas or electrically powered originally and specifically designed and intended to transport one or more individuals for the purpose of playing the game of golf on a golf course.
UTV or UTILITY TASK VEHICLE. A motor vehicle with four or more wheels that is gas powered, originally and specifically designed to be used for moving, hauling, or other tasks.
DRIVER'S LICENSE. A valid license to operate a motor vehicle issued by Indiana or any other state, or an Indiana ID, and having acquired the age of 16 years.
PROOF OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. Pursuant to I.C. 9-25-2-3, proof of ability to respond in damages for liability that arises out of the ownership, maintenance or use of a golf cart in the following amounts:
(1) $25,000 because of bodily injury to or death of any one person;
(2) Subject to the limit in division (1) above, $50,000 because of bodily injury to or death of two or more persons in any one accident; and
(3) $10,000 because of injury to or the destruction of property in any one accident.
(4) Proof shall be provided at the time of registration.
