For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
TAXICAB. Any motor vehicle designed and constructed to transport passengers, no more than six in number, not including the driver, which is used to transport passengers for pay, which is not operated over any definite and designated route within the town limits, and the destination of which is designated by the passenger at the time of transportation.
TAXICAB BUSINESS. The owning or managing of taxicabs for financial profit.
