Any exhaust system or muffler which does not meet the requirements enumerated in this chapter shall be repaired or replaced to restore the exhaust system or muffler to meet the requirements of this chapter within five days of the date of discovery of the defect. Failure to replace or restore the exhaust system or muffler to meet the requirements of this chapter within the five-day period shall constitute a separate violation of this chapter.
