The practice of going in and upon private residence in the village by solicitors, peddlers, or hawkers, not having been invited or requested to do so by the owners or occupants of such private residences, for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares, and merchandise or for the purpose of disposing of or peddling or hawking the same, is hereby declared to be a nuisance and, as such, is punishable as a misdemeanor.
