Requirements for monuments/headstones and foundations are as follows:
(A) Constructed or made of granite, stone, metal, or an indestructible material;
(B) Foundation Requirements: Made of concrete; four-inch margin extending around monument; depth - one-piece marker: 24 inches deep; two-piece monument: 36 inches deep; if extended: 30 inches deep; government marker at foot: 18 inches deep. Foundations shall be installed within the boundaries of the grave; and
(C) Placement shall be approved by the Town Council or Clerk-Treasurer and shall occur under the direction of the Clerk-Treasurer, who shall first be instructed as to the exact location within the lot where monument is to be placed. The location of a monument/headstone shall be at the west end of a grave and installed safely.
