(A) Once a sewer only account has reached delinquent status, the town has the option of installing a sewer stopper for the purpose of hindering sewage flow in a customer’s line.
(B) The customer will be responsible for the cost of the sewer stopper, as well as any labor charges, as defined in the schedule of fees, which may be found in the Clerk-Treasurer’s office.
(C) At least ten days prior to installing a sewer stopper, the town will provide the customer with a letter notifying him, her, or them of the impending installation and the cost of the material and labor.
(D) Any customer that damages, tampers, or interferes with a sewer stopper in any way will be assessed a fine, as defined in the schedule of fees, which may be found in the Clerk-Treasurer’s office.
(E) Once a sewer stopper has been installed, the customer will be responsible for payment of all delinquent amounts, as well as the cost and installation of the sewer stopper, prior to having it removed. A removal fee will be charged, as defined in the schedule of fees, which may be found in the Clerk-Treasurer’s office.
