537.16 ASSAULT OF POLICE OFFICER.

(a) No person shall knowingly cause or attempt to cause physical harm, or recklessly cause serious physical harm to a police officer in the execution of his office including the conduct of any lawful arrest.

(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of assault of a police officer, a misdemeanor of the first degree.
