1125.05 SIGN CERTIFICATES.
   (a)   No person shall erect, alter or relocate within the City, any signs or other advertising structures as defined in Chapter 1121 without first obtaining a sign certificate from the Building Commissioner and making payment of the fees required.
   (b)   Editor’s Note: Former subsection (b) hereof was repealed by Ordinance 1-2003, passed January 6, 2003.
   (c)   A permit for the erection and construction of the sign shall expire within six months.
   (d)   A sign certificate shall be required for the erection of signs regulated in the Zoning Ordinance, except that no permit shall be required for any of the following type signs provided they are located on private property:
      (1)   Temporary announcement signs.
      (2)   Temporary political signs.
      (3)   Temporary window signs.
   (e)   Each application for a sign certificate shall be accompanied by a scale drawing showing the design proposed, the size, character and color of all letters, lines and symbols, method of illumination, the exact location of the sign in relation to the building and property and the details and specifications for construction and erection.
   (f)   The Building Commissioner is authorized and empowered to revoke any sign certificate issued by him, upon failure of the holder to comply with any provision of the sign regulations or the terms of the sign certificate. (Ord. 35-1980. Passed 10-6-80.)
