2-5-3: POWERS AND DUTIES:
   A.   To collect general environmental and/or technical information as may pertain to the quality of life within the Village and to make such material available to the Village President and Board of Trustees.
   B.   To alert the Village President and Board of Trustees to state and federal laws relative to the environment which may require attention and/or action on the part of the board.
   C.   To make recommendations to the Village President and Board of Trustees for adoption of policies, programs and/or goals which would improve or sustain the environment of the Village and which would not conflict with state or federal laws.
   D.   The Commission may consider an application for a septic variance for a specific property, but only upon proof of notification by the applicant to all real estate taxpayers within two hundred fifty feet (250') from the specific location of the proposed variation. Said notice shall advise such taxpayers of the variance requested and the time and date of the meeting of the Environmental and Health Commission. Notice shall be given not less than ten (10) nor more than thirty five (35) days prior to the meeting of the commission where the request shall be considered.
   E.   To perform such other duties and functions as may be requested by the Village Board of Trustees. (Ord. 1176, 11-18-2009; amd. Ord. 2020-06, 5-20-2020)
