9-1-6: PERMIT REQUIREMENTS:
   A.   Building And Development Permits: No building permit providing for the improvement of any lot in any subdivision shall be issued until there has been filed with the Building and Zoning Officer a certified copy of the plat of subdivision as recorded or registered in the office of the recorder of deeds or registrar of titles, as the case may be. Nor shall a building permit be issued for the improvement of any lot until the plans and specifications for the public improvements have been approved by and filed with the President and Board of Trustees and until cash or surety bond as provided by ordinance are posted with the Village.
No building or development permit shall be issued for developments, buildings (other than individual single-family homes) or subdivisions unless and until evidence of liability insurance has been provided to the Village with limits of liability in at least the following amounts:
      1.   General liability:
         a.   Each occurrence, one million dollars ($1,000,000.00); and
         b.   Personal injury, one million dollars ($1,000,000.00); and
         c.   General aggregate, two million dollars ($2,000,000.00); and
         d.   Products, one million dollars ($1,000,000.00).
      2.   Automobile liability:
         a.   Any vehicle including hired vehicles and nonowned vehicles, one million dollars ($1,000,000.00).
      3.   Excess/umbrella liability on an occurrence basis:
         a.   Each occurrence, three million dollars ($3,000,000.00); and
         b.   Aggregate, three million dollars ($3,000,000.00).
      4.   Workers' compensation and employers' liability:
         a.   Each occurrence, five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00); and
         b.   Policy maximum, five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00); and
         c.   Occupational disease, five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000.00).
Said insurance shall insure the contractor, developer or entity primarily responsible for the construction or project and shall name as additional insureds:
      1.   The property owner; and
      2.   The Village of North Barrington and its officers, agents and independent contractors having any responsibilities as to the work being performed (including engineers, surveyors, building and enforcement officers and attorneys). (Ord. 1086, 3-20-2006)
   B.   Occupancy Permits: No occupancy permit shall be granted by any governing official for the use of any structure within any subdivision approved for platting or replatting until required utility facilities have been installed and made ready to service the property, and that roadways providing access to the subject lot or lots have been constructed, or are in the course of construction.    C.   Temporary Occupancy Permits: At the discretion of the Building and Zoning Officer, a temporary occupancy permit may be issued for a specific period of time not to exceed six (6) months, and a bond, if appropriate, required. (2004 Code)
