8-2-7: AMENDMENTS TO INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE:
The provisions of the 2012 international residential code are hereby deleted, modified, and amended as follows:
   A.   Amend section R101.1 to read as follows:
R101.1 Title. These provisions shall be known as the residential code of the village of North Barrington, hereinafter referred to as "this code".
   B.   Delete sections R112.1 through R112.4 and replace with the following:
R112.1 Refer to international building code section 113 as amended.
   C.   Amend table R301.2(1) to insert the design criteria as follows:

   D.   Delete sections R312.2 through R312.2.2.
   E.   Delete section R313 in its entirety.
   F.   Amend section R302.3 to read as follows:
R302.3 Two-Family Dwellings. Dwelling units in two-family dwellings (duplexes) shall be separated from each other by wall and/or floor assemblies having not less than a 2 hour fire-resistance rating when tested in accordance with ASTME 119. Fire-resistance-rated floor-ceiling assemblies shall extend to and be tight against the exterior wall, and wall assemblies shall extend to the underside of the roof sheathing.
   G.   Delete chapters 25, 27, 29, 30, 31, and 32 in their entirety. The Illinois plumbing code shall govern the design, installation, alteration, repair and replacement of plumbing systems. Any references to the international plumbing code in this code shall be substituted with Illinois plumbing code.
   H.   Amend section AG105.2 as follows:
Delete items 6 and 7.
   I.   Referenced standards.
Delete the references to the international plumbing code.
Delete the references to the international private sewage disposal code.
Delete the references to the international energy conservation code.
   J.   Amend section R105.5 to read as follows:
R105.5 Expiration and Extension of Building Permit. All building permits shall expire eighteen months from the date of issuance, regardless of whether the project for which the permit was issued has been completed. If the Building and Zoning Officer determines that due to the size or complexity of the project, the eighteen month expiration should be extended, the Building and Zoning Officer may extend the expiration date of the building permit for up to one (1) year. Furthermore, every permit issued shall become invalid unless the work on the site authorized by such permit is commenced within one hundred eighty (180) days after its issuance, or if the work authorized on the site by such permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of ninety (90) days after the time the work is commenced. The Building and Zoning Officer is authorized to grant, in writing, one or more extensions of time for periods not to exceed one hundred eighty (180) days each upon payment of fifty percent (50%) of the original building permit fee.
