521.20 DUTY TO MAINTAIN BUILDING ADDRESS NUMBERS.
   (a)   Every owner, lessee or occupant of any building in the Village shall properly number his or her building in accordance with subsection (b) hereof.
   (b)   Street numbers placed on buildings in the Village shall be Arabic numbers at least three (3) but not more than eight (8) inches in height. Numbers shall be legible and shall be fixed in a conspicuous place on or at the front of the building and must be visible from the public right of way. Numbers shall be placed at least three (3) feet above ground level to prevent them from being obstructed by snow, etc. In the case of a corner lot, the numbers shall be fixed on the side facing the public right of way to which the number applies.
   (c)   The Village Administrator and/or the Chief of Police shall cause a written notice to be delivered by regular mail, or by personal delivery to the owner, lessee, or occupant of any property that does not display proper numbering as required by this section, or which numbering is not legible from the public right of way. Said owner, lessee or occupant shall have fourteen (14) days from the date of said notice to properly affix numbering on said building.
   (d)   Whoever violates this section after delivery of the fourteen (14) day warning notice as provided in subsection (c) above, is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
