147.03 ADJUSTMENTS OR WRITE-OFFS.
   (a)   It shall be the policy of the Village that before any sums due the Village are written off or otherwise adjusted, (except for adjustments of utility accounts caused because of errors in meter reading or computer errors in calculating utility bills), said write-offs or adjustment must first be approved by Resolution adopted by the appropriate policy making body having jurisdiction over said fees or charges. Council shall approve by Resolution all write-offs or adjustments of all charges or amounts due the Village, including but not limited to income tax collection accounts; EMS charges; charges for fire service; zoning fees; and all other fees or charges established by ordinance or resolution of the Village.
   (b)   All proposed adjustments of utility bills on accounts made necessary because of errors in meter reading or because of computer errors made in generating the utility bill shall first be approved by the Village Administrator and the Village Water Superintendent before said adjustment is made.
