Inverted siphons should have not less than two barrels, the minimum pipe size shall be six inches in diameter. There shall be provided the necessary appurtenances for maintenance, conventional flushing, and cleaning equipment at the inlet and outlet and shall have adequate clearance for cleaning equipment, inspection and flushing. Design shall provide sufficient head and appropriate pipe sizes to secure velocities of at least 3.0 feet per second for average flows.
