913.11 INTENT TO SHARE TAX REVENUES ON ANNEXATION.
Not withstanding Ohio R.C. 709.19 specifying a transition period for the sharing of taxes with a township on certain larger territorial annexations, Council desires to go on record as expressing its intention to negotiate an agreement on the sharing of property taxes on property annexed from any adjacent township to the Village of North Baltimore, provided such an agreement would not be contrary to law. If the territory to be annexed is already included in a CEDA or JEDD agreement already in place with the Township, that agreement shall control. The intent of this section is not to fix a specific percentage amount or specific duration for the sharing of taxes, but to state an intention on the part of the Village to negotiate in good faith with the township on the sharing of property tax revenues to ease the effect on the township’s budget caused by property annexed to the Village pursuant to Codified Ordinance Sections 913.09 , 913.10 and 913.11 . (Ord. 07-21. Passed 8-7-07.)
