909.08 ABUSE OR MUTILATION OF PUBLIC TREES; INTERFERENCE WITH COMMISSION.
   (a)   Unless specifically authorized by the Tree Commission, no person shall intentionally damage, cut, carve, top, transplant, or remove any public tree or shrub; attach any rope, wire, nails, advertising posts, squirrel feeder, or other contrivance to any such tree or shrub; allow any gaseous, liquid, or solid substance to come in contact with them; set fire or permit fire to burn when the fire or heat thereof shall injure any portion of any such tree or shrub.
   (b)   No person shall excavate any ditch, tunnel, trench, alley or drive within a radius of ten (10) feet from any public tree or shrub without obtaining approval from the Village Administrator.
   (c)   It shall be unlawful for any person to prevent, delay, or interfere with the Tree Commission, or any of its agents, while engaging in and about the planting, cultivation, mulching, pruning, spraying, or removing of any public trees, or trees on private grounds, as authorized in this Chapter.
