(A) It shall be the duty of the Code Official or his or her duly authorized agent to administer and enforce the provisions of this chapter, except as otherwise expressly provided in this chapter.
(B) It shall be the duty of the Code Official to:
(1) Receive and process any application;
(2) Issue a certificate of compliance upon an application therefor;
(3) Conduct investigations as necessary to determine compliance or conformance with or violation of this chapter;
(4) Abate any violation of this chapter;
(5) Seek the assistance of the office of local law enforcement, Sheriff of the or the office of the prosecuting attorney of the appropriate county, as the case may be, to abate or prosecute any violation of this chapter;
(6) Assist law enforcement officers to abate or prosecute any violation of this chapter;
(7) Provide information about this chapter upon the request of citizens and public agencies;
(8) Pursue enforcement of this chapter as this chapter and other law provides; and
(9) Administer this chapter in all respects.
(C) No certificate of occupancy nor similar certificate shall be issued by the city to any person to occupy or use any premises as an adults-only establishment until the Code Official shall issue a certificate of compliance therefor or determine that a certificate of compliance shall remain in force and effect.
