§ 39.048 FIRE PROTECTION SERVICE FEE FOR NONRESIDENT BUSINESSES AND RESIDENCES.
   Emergency services shall be continued, maintained and improved by the city, in part, by payment of the fire protection service fee by the owners of buildings and structures of every kind and nature located within the Fire Service District (First Due Area) of the City Fire Department, which owners are declared to be users and beneficiaries of fire services as contemplated by W. Va. Code 8-13-13. Emergency services shall be provided by City Fire Department as herein defined within the geographic area established by the state’s State Fire Commission as the First Due Area of the City Fire Department.
 
Fire Protection Service Rate Fees for Properties Located Outside of the Corporate Limits of the City but Within the City’s First Due Area
Owner of single-family residential unit of any size
$150 per year or $37.50 per quarter
Owner of any residential unit with one or more detached structures exceeding 1,000 square feet
An additional $75 or $18.75 per quarter
Owner of a nonresidential unit structure
$0.0675 per square foot
