§ 37.27 AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY OF RESERVE UNIT AND MEMBERS; COMPENSATION.
   (A)   The reserve fire unit, including members of such, shall render volunteer service upon occasions when, in the opinion of the Fire Chief, such augmentation of the regular Department is essential to the public welfare and safety.
   (B)   The purpose of the reserve fire unit shall be to cooperate with and assist the Fire Department.
   (C)   Any form of compensation paid to the reserve unit shall be established under order of Council.
   (D)   A reserve firefighter has authority only while on duty. When off duty, a member reverts to his or her civilian status.
