§ 154.190 EXEMPTION FROM VACANT STRUCTURE STATUS.
   (A)   The owner of a vacant structure may formally request the city to exempt the subject structure from the registration provisions of § 154.182. The city shall, upon a finding for good cause by the City Building Inspector that the owner of the structure will be unable to occupy the structure for a determinant period of time, exempt the owner from the registration provisions of § 154.182. A finding for good cause may be established if the owner can demonstrate that, due to facts or circumstances that differentiate the structure from other structures required to be registered under the provisions of § 154.182, or the requirements of this subchapter present a special or undue hardship that is unique or unduly burdensome to the specific structure.
   (B)   All property owned by the United States of America, the state, Kanawha County, Putnam County or the city is exempt from the requirements of this subchapter.
