This Zoning Code is adopted to promote and protect the public health, safety, convenience, comfort, prosperity, and/or general welfare: by regulating the use of buildings, other structures and land for institutional, residential, business, industrial, or other uses; by regulating the area and dimensions of lots, yards, and other open spaces; by regulating and restricting the location, bulk, height, design, and land coverage of buildings; by regulating and limiting the density of population; and for the aforesaid purposes to establish districts of such classification, number and dimensions as may be considered best to implement comprehensive planning and to provide regulations and procedures for the administration, interpretation, amendment and enforcement thereof.
