§ 32.131 QUALIFICATIONS; CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
   (A)   The Commissioners must be citizens of Iowa, eligible electors as defined in Iowa Code Ch. 39 (2001), and residents of the city preceding their appointment, and shall serve without compensation.
   (B)   A person, while on the Commission, shall not hold or be a candidate for any office of public trust. Commissioners shall not sell to, or in any manner become parties, directly, to any contract to furnish supplies, material or labor to the city, except as provided in Iowa Code § 362.5 (2001).
   (C)   A violation of this conflict of interest provision is a simple misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of at least $65 but not to exceed $625.
