(A) Five members of the Board shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council.
(B) The Board shall consist of five members who reside within the city limits, and are of legal voting age.
(C) The original appointment of the members of the Board shall be for three years, from January 1 following the year of such appointment. After the original appointment, the term of service shall be two years when reappointed to the Board.
(D) Members may serve for more than one term.
(E) If any vacancy shall exist on the Board caused by resignation or otherwise, a successor for the remainder of said term shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council.
(F) Members shall serve without compensation.
(G) A simple majority of the Board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.
(H) The Board shall elect a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson at its first meeting of each calendar year for presiding over the meetings.
(I) The Board is authorized to adopt a Rules of Procedure to govern its meetings and procedures. The Rules of Procedure of the Park Board should conform substantially to the most recent adopted version of the Procedural Rules of the City Council.
