If the owner of a dog or cat impounded hereunder does not redeem the dog within seven days or the cat within three days of the date of the notice, the dog or cat may be humanely destroyed or otherwise disposed of in accordance with the law. If the owner of a dog impounded cannot be located within seven days or a cat within three days, the dog or cat may be humanely destroyed or otherwise disposed of in accordance with the law.
