§ 72.06 HANDICAPPED PARKING.
   (A)   Required spaces. All public and private buildings and facilities, residences and non-residences, shall provide handicapped parking spaces as required by Iowa Code Ch. 321L, as amended by Senate file 2244, effective 7-1-1990. The city shall provide 2% of all parking spaces on and off street, for handicapped parking in the downtown business district as required by Iowa Code Ch. 32IL, as amended by Senate file 2244, effective 7-1-1990.
   (B)   Designated spaces. Parking spaces are hereby designated by the city as handicapped parking spaces.
   (C)   Unlawful use. The use of a handicapped parking space by a motor vehicle not displaying a handicapped identification device, or by a motor vehicle displaying such a device but not being used by a handicapped person as operator or passenger, is a misdemeanor.
   (D)   Scheduled violation. A violation of this section is a scheduled violation and subject to such fine as is established in the Code of Iowa for this offense under state law.
