§ 70.46 POWER TO DIRECT TRAFFIC.
   A peace officer, and any officer of the Fire Department when at the scene of a fire, is authorized to direct all traffic by voice, hand or signal in conformance with traffic laws. In the event of an emergency, traffic may be directed as conditions require, notwithstanding the provisions of the traffic laws. In the case of events occurring that are deemed beyond the normal staffing capabilities of the Police Department, the Chief of Police, or designee, may direct a responsible third party to perform traffic direction under the general supervision of a police officer.
