(A) Purpose. To provide an overview of the responsibilities and the procedures whereby the notification of key officials and the warning of the general public are accomplished.
(B) Responsibilities.
(1) The Scott County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center is the Scott County Warning Point. The county warning point is responsible for relaying emergency notifications (such as severe weather, manmade emergencies) which it relays to the New Prague Police Department, which serves as the City Warning Point.
(2) The City Warning Point is responsible for ensuring that all emergency notifications which it receives are handled properly. Specially, the warning point will:
(a) New Prague Ambulance and Fire Dept’s will be paged.
(b) Notify key city department heads, by phone or personal contact: Police Dept.
(c) Activate the city’s outdoor warning sirens by notifying Scott Co. Dispatch: Police
(d) In the event of siren failure carry out route alerting (house to house) with the use of public address system on law enforcement vehicles: Police, Fire, and Ambulance Depts.
(e) Notify Scott County Emergency Management.
(f) Notify affected private and/or public facilities including nursing homes, Queen of Peace Hospital, Schools, factories, special needs population, by phone or personal contact. Fire Dept.
(C) Support documents. The City of New Prague Notification and Warning Standard Guidelines (SOG) details the specific Notification and Warning Procedures that will be followed by the New Prague City Warning Point. The SOG is on file at the New Prague Fire Dept. Office.
(D) Authentication.
