A designated predatory offender residing within a prohibited zone as described in § 94.03(A) does not commit a violation of this chapter if any of the following apply:
(A) The person established the permanent residence or temporary residence and reported and registered the residence pursuant to M.S. §§ 243.166, 243.167, or a successor statute, prior to the effective date of this chapter.
(B) The school, park, library, place of worship, or dedicated vulnerable adult housing within 1,500 feet of the person's residence was designated or opened after the person established the permanent residence or temporary residence and reported and registered the residence pursuant to M.S. §§ 243.166 or 243.167, or a successor statute.
(C) The person is a minor.
(D) The person was a minor when he or she committed all offenses leading to his or her status as a dedicated predatory offender.
(E) The residence is also the primary residence of the person's parents, grandparents, siblings, or spouse.
