6-2-33: FERAL CATS:
   (A)   Feral cats are hereby declared to be a public nuisance.
   (B)   Feeding or sheltering feral cats is a violation of this section unless the person doing so establishes to the City that he or she is working with a licensed veterinarian to spay or neuter the cats in their care and provides to the City documentation of such sterilization.
   (C)   It shall be unlawful for any person to own, keep, hold, board, feed or harbor more than five (5) feral cats.
   (D)   Feeding or sheltering feral cats in violation of this section shall constitute a public nuisance the abatement of which may be accomplished by the seizure of, whether on public or private property, and/or the destruction of such feral cats, or by any other means of abatement of a public nuisance authorized by law.
   (E)   This section is not intended to prevent a private party from asserting any legal rights he or she may have to enjoin or seek damages against a person sheltering or feeding feral cats.
   (F)   Violation of this section shall constitute a misdemeanor. (Ord. 392, 5-6-2019)
