§ 21.07 GENERAL POWERS.
   (A)   If the Town Council consists of an even number of members from any cause, the Clerk-Treasurer shall ex officio be a member of the Council, to the extent only that, in case of tie, he shall cast the deciding vote.

   (B)   The Clerk-Treasurer may administer oaths, take depositions and take acknowledgments of all instruments required by law to be acknowledged; and he shall have the custody of the seal of the town.

   (C)   The Clerk-Treasurer is authorized to appoint such number of full-time and part-time deputies and employees as may be authorized by the Town Council. Such deputies and employees shall serve at the pleasure of the Clerk-Treasurer. The Clerk-Treasurer shall fix the salaries of such deputies and employees within the limits of the appropriations made for such purposes.

   (D)   The Clerk-Treasurer has the power to solemnize marriages within the confines of the county. (I.C. 31-11-6-1)
