171.01 CLERK OF MAYOR'S COURT.
   (a)   The position of Clerk of the Mayor's Court is hereby established. This position shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor. The term of this appointment shall be for a period of one year commencing January 1, 1992.
 
   (b)   The position of Deputy Clerk of the Mayor’s Court is hereby established. This position shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor. The term of this appointment shall be for a period of one year commencing on January 1 of each calendar year.
 
   (c)   The Clerk of the Mayor's Court and any Deputy Clerk of the Mayor’s Court shall be responsible for the immediate docketing of the fines and court costs received as a result of the prosecution of traffic and criminal offenses in the Mayor's Court. The Clerk or Deputy Clerk shall also be responsible for preparing the docket books for the traffic and criminal charges scheduled for each court session. In accord with these duties, the Clerk shall be required to attend each scheduled court session in the Village, and, at the discretion of the Mayor, the Deputy Clerk shall be required to attend each scheduled court session in the Village. Upon the receipt of the fines and court costs the Clerk or Deputy Clerk shall immediately complete an accounting report which shall be forwarded to the Mayor of the Village for review. Upon approval of the Mayor, a deposit slip shall be completed and the fines and court costs received shall be deposited in the Court account at the banking institution used by the Village within twenty-four hours of the receipt of the same. The Clerk or Deputy Clerk shall also make the proper allocation of money to the various funds and state agencies as mandated by the Laws of the State of Ohio, all with the approval and consent of the Mayor.
 
   (d)   The Clerk of the Mayor's Court and any Deputy Clerk of the Mayor’s Court shall be compensated at such rate as Council may establish from time to time. No other employment benefits shall be accorded the Clerk or Deputy Clerk of the Mayor’s Court in such capacity as Clerk or Deputy Clerk of the Mayor’s Court.
