It shall be the duty of the Building Inspector to:
(a) Enforce the provisions of the Zoning Code and the Building Code and the Exterior Property Maintenance Code.
(b) Inspect all new construction and alteration of existing construction, and report to the Planning Commission all violations of the Zoning Code and the Building Code.
(c) Investigate all applications for occupancy permits and report to the Planning Commission all violations of the Zoning Code and the Building Code.
(d) Issue building permits and occupancy permits when the applications show such to be clearly within the provisions of the Zoning or Building Code and refer the applications to the Planning Commission when any protest is made against the issuance of a permit, or when there is doubt as to whether the application should be allowed under the provisions of the Zoning or Building Code.
(e) Assist the Village Administrator in issuing and monitoring compliance with any permits issued by the Village under the provisions of the Codified Ordinances or any rules and regulations adopted by the Village Administrator in accordance with the Codified Ordinances.
