(a) There is hereby created an Auxiliary Police Force within the New Lexington Police Department. Auxiliaries shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of Council.
(b) The Chief of Police shall be authorized to establish rules and regulations for the conduct and operation of such Auxiliary Police Force. The Mayor and Council shall approve such rules and regulations which shall be controlling unless revoked by the Mayor or a majority of Council.
(c) Such Auxiliary Force may be abolished with or without cause by the Mayor or a majority of Council.
(d) Any and all funds accrued by past, present or future Auxiliary Police Forces shall be administered by the Chief of Police and the President of the Auxiliary Police Force for the benefit of the Auxiliaries. (Ord. 84-9. Passed 5-21-84.)
