(a) The City of New Lexington hereby recognizes that the quality of residential rental housing is important to its residents and that the City government plays a critical role in monitoring the quality of such housing.
(b) The purpose of this division is:
(1) To inform rental unit residents of their rights and to provide them with additional tools to maintain the quality of their living spaces.
(2) To provide a mechanism for inspections when necessary in order to help maintain the quality of residential rental housing.
(3) To provide the City of New Lexington with the contact information of anyone responsible for a residential rental property in order to enable the City to immediately make contact with such person if a code violation is reported or in cases of emergency.
