(A) For the purpose of computing the square footage of area in any sign, the total perpendicular overall dimensions in the two widest parts of the sign shall be used. This area shall be considered solid with no openings deducted therefrom.
(B) The following standard shall be used in determining the maximum permitted size of all signs designated above. Appendix B of this chapter provides a formula which shall permit a larger sign than the basic minimum size. The proportional permitted increase in sign size shall be determined by the indicated increase in the basic building setback and building width.
