§ 153.084 SIDEWALKS.
   Sidewalks shall meet the following design criteria.
   (A)   Sidewalks shall be four feet wide on local and collector streets, and five feet wide on arterial streets. When a sidewalk is constructed adjacent to the street curb and gutter, it shall be constructed one foot wider. Sidewalks parallel to arterial roads with designated bike paths shall be eight feet wide.
   (B)   Sidewalks shall be required on both sides of local, collector and arterial streets.
   (C)   All sidewalks shall consist of concrete (ODOT Class A, 6 sack, 3,000 psi, water/cement ratio of 0.48, one-inch to three-inch slump). Sidewalks shall include pedestrian bridges across creeks and streams where applicable.
   (D)   The finished thickness of portland cement concrete sidewalks shall not be less than four inches. Sidewalks across driveways shall be six inches thick.
   (E)   In general, sidewalks shall be constructed within the dedicated right-of-way at a distance no less than one foot from the abutting property lines, and except at intersections or as reviewed by the city, shall be no less than three feet from the outside curb line of the street pavements.
   (F)   Sidewalks must provide access for the safe and convenient movement across curbs of physically disabled persons, including those persons in wheelchairs. Wheelchair ramps shall be constructed in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
   (G)   To accommodate wheelchair access, six sidewalk widths shall be provided every 200 feet in accordance with ADA requirements. Driveways may be utilized as appropriate; provided that, the cross- slope of the driveway on each side of the sidewalk does not exceed 2%.
   (H)   Transverse crack control joints shall be placed at intervals not to exceed five feet. Joints shall be tooled or sawed to a depth of one inch.
   (I)   Expansion joints shall be placed at curbs, driveways or abutting structures.
   (J)   Where sidewalks intersect drainage flumes, the sidewalks shall span the flume if the flume is the principal drainage between the lots and the sidewalks may slope into the flume if the flume is constructed to act as an overflow.
