A person commits the offense of flight from an officer, if:
(A) He or she is the operator of a vehicle and refuses to stop his or her vehicle as soon as is safely possible, when signaled to do so by a law enforcement officer;
(B) Upon stopping his or her vehicle at the signal of a law enforcement officer, abandons the vehicle and leaves, or attempts to leave, the immediate area without the permission of the law enforcement officer;
(C) He or she is a passenger in a vehicle and abandons the vehicle after a law enforcement officer has signaled the vehicle to stop;
(D) After the vehicle has stopped, leaves the immediate area without the permission of the law enforcement officer; or
(E) He or she is a pedestrian and leaves, or attempts to leave, the immediate area after being directed by a law enforcement officer to stop or to remain in the area for a reasonable length of time.
