It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge a firearm within the corporate limits of the city, except when doing so in the line of duty, when lawfully doing so in defense of oneself or of another person or property, when otherwise authorized by state law or ordinance, when doing so for the preservation of the peace, health or safety of residents or the abatement of nuisances, or when engaged in authorized hunting or other related activities. It shall also be unlawful to discharge an air rifle or BB gun within the city in a manner as to harm or damage persons or property.
