(A) At-large animals, nuisance animals, animals suffering a serious health situation, or are in danger of immanent death as determined by the Director of Animal Control or his or her designee, and animals that have bitten persons may be taken by law enforcement or animal control officers and impounded in the New Castle/Henry County Animal Shelter.
(B) In lieu of impounding an animal that is at large, unlicensed, or a public nuisance according to this chapter, the law enforcement or animal control officer may issue to the known owner of such animal a notice of ordinance violation.
