(a) The City Manager is hereby authorized to act and serve in the capacity as the Director of Public Safety until Council, by appropriate action, directs otherwise.
(b) No extra compensation shall be paid to the Manager for service in such official capacity. He or she may perform all acts and duties, and have all the privileges, which are provided by the statutes of the State and the ordinances of the Municipality for such office.
