(A) Ends of floor joist framing into masonry walls shall have not less than 4-inch bearing and shall have at least a 3-inch bevel or fire cut.
(B) Each fourth joist in wood floor construction framing into masonry walls shall have either a metal strap anchor applied on the side and near the bottom of the joist which shall extend into the masonry wall, or other approved anchorage.
(C) Masonry walls running parallel to the floor joist shall be tied to the floor construction with metal strap anchors spaced not over 6 feet apart and extending over and secured to at least 4 joists.
(D) All sills and all bearing plats for roof rafter framing into masonry walls shall be bolted to the masonry walls with 1/2-inch x 18-inch bolts bedded firmly into the masonry and spaced not more than 8 feet apart.
(E) Wherever masonry construction is used over openings in masonry walls, the masonry shall be supported with steel or reinforced concrete lintels, properly designed masonry arches, or other approved lintels. In no case shall masonry over openings in masonry walls be supported by wood timbers.
