§ 150.022 BUILDING COMMISSIONER, QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES.
   (A)   Generally. The Building Commissioner shall be a person of good standing in the community and shall be well experienced in the field of construction, shall be knowledgeable of all state building laws, and shall comply with state law requirements which may be applicable.
   (B)   Bond. The Building Commissioner or any assistant appointed, before entering upon the duties of his or her office, shall give bond in the minimum sum of $1,000. The bond shall have surety or sureties thereon by some surety company or 2 reputable freeholders of the town, to the approval of the Town Council. The premium of the bond is to be paid by the town.
   (C)   Salary. The salary of the Building Inspector and his or her assistants shall be set by the conditions of a contract between the Building Inspector and the Town Council of the Town of New Carlisle.

   (D)   Duties.
      (1)   The duties of the Building Commissioner shall be the administration of the Building Department and the enforcement of applicable sections of the Code. He or she shall have direction of and authority over all members of the Department, unless otherwise provided.
      (2)   He or she shall whenever requested furnish preliminary information relative to the application or interpretation of any such provisions of this Code when the same is needed in the preparation of plans.
