For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
ABANDONED VEHICLE. Any motor vehicle left on public property illegally or in a manner as to constitute a hazard to foot or vehicular traffic; a vehicle from which the engine, transmission, or differential has been removed or that is otherwise partially dismantled and left on public property; any vehicle at least 3 model years old, mechanically inoperable and left continuously on private property for 20 days in a location visible from public property.
GARAGE. A structure having a roof supported by walls, and for the shelter, enclosure, or protection of vehicles or other personal property. One wall of a GARAGE may be composed primarily of a large door.
JUNKED OR WRECKED AUTOMOBILES. Any motor vehicle, part or parts thereof which meets at least 1 of the following qualifications:
(1) Does not display a current, valid state license plate;
(2) Cannot be operated safely under its own power;
(3) Is qualified for but is not carried on the most recent tax assessment records of the county;
(4) Does not have equipment upon it which is in good working order and adjustment as required by the laws of the state; and/or
(5) As to a part or parts of any motor vehicle which is not kept inside of a garage or other structure as defined herein.
OTHER STRUCTURE. Anything constructed or erected, the use of which requires a more or less permanent location on the ground or which is attached to something permanently located on the ground.
PUBLIC VIEW. Vehicles left in the open, including those that are covered with any type of material. Vehicles stored, parked, or kept in a garage or other structure shall not be considered in PUBLIC VIEW if a garage or other structure or similar door remains open for more than 24 hours. PUBLIC VIEW shall not be determined merely based on whether or not the vehicle may be seen from public property.
VEHICLE. Includes every vehicle which is self-propelled and every vehicle which is propelled by electric power.
