(A) The Cemetery Board shall consist of 5 Trustees. Four Trustees shall be appointed by the Town Council from residents of the Town of New Carlisle. Residents of St. Joseph and La Porte Counties in Indiana that shall own 1 or more certificates to a burial site or sites in the New Carlisle Cemetery and who shall be at least 21 years of age are also eligible for appointment to the Cemetery Board. The Town Council shall appoint 1 such trustee to a 4-year term; and 1 to a 3-year term; 1 to a 2-year term; and 1 to a 1-year term. Thereafter each year the Town Council shall, on the anniversary date of said appointments, appoint 1 Trustee to succeed the Trustee whose term expires during such year; however, in event of death, resignation, or disqualification for any reason of any Trustee whose term has not expired, the Town Council shall appoint a successor to hold office for the remainder of the term for which said withdrawn Trustee was appointed.
(B) The fifth Trustee shall be a member of the Town Council and designated by that Council to serve on the Cemetery Board.
