(a) Standards Applicable to All Departments.
(1) Appointees shall pass a physical examination by a licensed physician indicating that he meets the physical requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position.
(2) Appointees must be a high school graduate, or equivalent.

(3) Appointees, except elected officials, Police Chief, Fire Chief and Village Administrator, shall be a resident of Scioto County.
A. Appointees, residing outside of Scioto County, shall have one year from their original appointment to relocate their residence into Scioto County.
(4) Appointees to the position of Fire Chief, Police Chief and Village Administrator must be, or become a resident of the Village of New Boston within six months. (Ord. 14-2000. Passed 5-2-00.)
(5) All employees or appointees of the Village of New Boston who receive payments or any other funds on behalf of the Village of New Boston shall ensure that all payments and/or funds received are deposited into the appropriate bank account(s) by the close of the business on the date of which said fund(s) or payment(s) are received.

(b) Minimum Employment Standards for the Service Department. Such employees shall:
(1) Meet all the requirements provided in subsection (a)(1), (a)(2) and (a)(3) hereof; and
(2) Be at least eighteen years old at time of employment.
(3) Shall have a valid State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator License for the duration of employment in the Service Department.
(4) Failure to have a valid State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator License shall constitute an act of voluntary termination in the Service Department.
(c) Minimum Employment Standards for the Fire Department. Such employees shall:
(1) Meet all the requirements provided in subsection (a) hereof;
(2) Meet all the mandated training requirements within time limitation established by the State for such training. Refusal to meet training requirements shall constitute a voluntary termination of employment.
(3) Shall have a valid State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator License for the duration of employment in the Fire Department.
(4) Failure to have a valid State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator License shall constitute an act of voluntary termination in the Fire Department.
(d) Minimum Employment Standards for the Police Department. Such employee shall:
(1) Meet all the requirements provided in subsection (a) hereof.
(2) Must undergo psychological testing.
(3) Meet all the mandated training requirements within time limitation established by the State for such training. Refusal to meeting training requirements shall constitute a voluntary termination of employment.
(4) Shall have a valid State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator License for the duration of employment in the Police Department.
(5) Failure to have a valid State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator License shall constitute an act of voluntary termination in the Police Department.
(e) The requirements of residency and training for all departments and the requirements of have a valid State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator License for members of the Police, Fire and Service Departments, as set forth in this section shall apply to all persons employed on the date of the passage of this section as well as to new appointees after this date.
