As authorized by the provisions of S.C. Code § 4-9-170, and by the provisions of the Home Rule Act, No. 692, the 1975 Acts and Joint Resolutions of the General Assembly, Newberry County Council abolished the Board of Rural Fire Control as of 7-1-2002 and reconstituted the Board of Rural Fire Control as a county-created board.
