§ 33.17 TERMS OF COMMISSION MEMBERS; VACANCIES; EXPENSES.
   (A)   Terms of the members of the Commission shall be for 4 years or until their successors are appointed. Terms of the members shall be staggered. To achieve staggered terms, appointments shall be as follows:
      (1)   Newberry County. Seven members shall be appointed from the 7 Council districts;
      (2)   Prosperity. Shall appoint 1 member;
      (3)   Pomaria. Shall appoint 1 member;
      (4)   Little Mountain. Shall appoint 1 member; and
      (5)   Peak. Shall appoint 1 member.
      (6)   Silverstreet and Whitmire shall no longer have positions on the Planning Commission to appoint.
      (7)   All subsequent appointments shall be for a term of 4 years.
      (8)   A minimum of 6 members attending shall be required to constitute a quorum for the transaction of any business before the Commission. This number is notwithstanding how many of the 11 slots are filled by an appointee.
   (B)   The terms of the reconstituted Commission shall begin 7-1-2002. Those persons presently serving on the Commission shall continue to serve on the reconstituted Commission until their successors have been appointed and qualified for office.
   (C)   A participating governing body may remove any member appointed by that governing body for cause by majority vote of the Council. A vacancy for any reason shall be filled for the unexpired term by the Council making the original appointment.
   (D)   A member shall not hold an elective office and shall serve without pay. Members may be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in the performance of their duties from available funds approved in advance.
